NO MORE FRETTING
Many of the worries of the believer stem from the fact that he has not firmly grasped an accurate knowledge of God. Many have not known Him as Jehovah, the God who is present to work on behalf of His people. They may know Him as the Creator, the Judge, the King, etc. But not as a caring father who is always there for His children. They think God does not really want to help them so they will have to impress Him with a long and powerful prayer first before He will come to their aid. And that is very unfortunate. Indeed, beloved, there is a better way.

TRY THIS ATTITUDE
I have often wondered about how difficult it is for many to change from what they believe and adhere to even when they have found out that it is wrong. Many hold on to their ideologies even when they have discovered the falsehoods they contain. In short, many do not want to change and this is a basic predisposition. They would rather believe the things they have been believing or keep doing the things they have been doing. Their wish to continue in this manner most often has no bearing on whether what they are believing or doing is wrong or right. They are just attached to doing or believing those things and would not want to change because changing means agreeing that they have been wrong and they are too proud to do that.

PRESERVE THE JOY OF ZION
How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land (Psalm 137:4)?
The believer is a citizen of heaven or Zion. He belongs to the city of the living God and is expected to live on earth from this city. In other words, we are supposed to live here as ambassadors of our homeland Zion. You may take many things away from an ambassador but not the consciousness of his homeland. Forget it. One day, a group of international pastors were asked to introduce themselves at a meeting. Everyone went about this mentioning their name and earthly country till it was the turn of one remarkable pastor who mentioned his name and added that he hails from Zion. All the others applauded him for opening their eyes to this truth.

THE PERVERSIONS OF THE FLESH
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us:
for we are not ignorant of his devices (2Cor 2:11).
It is the devil's ambition to corrupt or pervert that which the Lord does. Every activity of his is aimed at achieving this corruption. It is important for Christians to know exactly how the devil moves to pervert God's goodies for them. The word of God says that we are not ignorant of his devises; lest the devil should have the better of us. You see there is no reason at all for any believer to be ignorant of the workings of the devil because the Father has revealed them to us. Even as you read on, may you encounter truth that will quicken the perfect work of God in you.

IN THE COMPANY OF THE MIGHTY
These be the names of the mighty men whom David had:... ...thirty and seven in all . (2 Samuel 23:8-39).
I have studied the success stories of many men and women. In
my studies, one thing seems to stand out to me; the fact that these men and
women were surrounded and aided by other great men and women. I also realised
that most often when we celebrate these men for their successes, we forget to
celebrate their great company as well. In so doing we get the wrong picture and
see the path to success as a lonely road with solitary travellers.
JUST REMOVE THE STRENGTH
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the
law (1 Cor. 15:56).
One of the things that occupied my thoughts most of the time
after I became a Christian was how to stop sinning. Mostly, I realised it was
not sinning in general but a particular sin that seemed to plague me. It was
the sin I struggled with all the time. The one I felt easily entangled me and
impeded my progress in the Christian
life. Like every true Christian, I wanted to stop but stopping was out of my reach.
Sometimes I could succeed for a while before I found myself plunged into it
once again. It never seemed to lose its hold on me. Beloved, your experience
may not be very different from mine. I
know many Christians identify with this problem I had.

THAT YE MAY KNOW
What Does it Mean to Know?
[I] cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you
in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may
give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The
eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know... Eph. 1:16-18
This is a very important scripture, in that it explains how
true knowledge is arrived at. Paul was writing about a prayer he prayed for the
church at Ephesus. He prayed that God would grant them the spirit of wisdom and
revelation in the knowledge of God. Paul prayed for the operation of the spirit
of wisdom and revelation. Notice he did not pray for intelligence. Neither did
he pray for strong reasoning power that they may be able to contain in their
minds that knowledge of God. He prayed for something they could not possess
naturally. He prayed for what only God could provide: the spirit of wisdom and
revelation.
...that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and
what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the
exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the
working of his mighty power. Eph. 1:18,19.

MAN, KNOW THY GOD
Part 2
How come they could not believe God would bring them into the Promised Land after all that they had seen Him do in their midst? This is why: THEY DID NOT KNOW GOD. They only knew the things God had done but they did not know Him. They only knew His acts but not His ways. For had they known His ways they would have realized that here was a God who would act consistently in His manner always.
MAN, KNOW THY GOD
Be still, and know that I am God...(Psalm 46:10).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
vol. 36
I have often marveled at the conduct of the Israelites during the period that God led them from Egypt to the Promised Land. Against the background of all the wonderful things that God did for them, that they could not utterly believe God in all is unfathomable and deeply grieving. As I read the account in the Scriptures, I cannot help but ask, “why?” and “how come?” Why, upon all that they saw, did they start complaining anytime they encountered an obstacle in their journey with God. It was as though God could not make Himself clear enough to them. In their petulance, it was so easy for them to slip into unbelief and behave in a manner that is unbefitting of true believers, let alone sons of God. But the Bible in calling this period the days of provocation or irritation expressly forbears us from going after their error:
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years (cf. Hebrews 3:8,9).

PLEASE LET ME EXPLAIN- Part 2
Unfortunately, many Christians bear God a grudge. This is because most often than not, most were brought up on the wrong spiritual food. As a result, their own spiritual growth is severely stunted. But worse, they are not able to manifest the God-life in them in the world. This article is God's own love letter to you His beloved. Don't you want to know what your lover has to say?

What my people forget is that no one who walked with me was left miserable. In fact many who walked with me were low class people when they began but were later placed among the nobles. I come to enrich and not to impoverish. I come to give and not to take away. If I cause you to put away then I am giving you something better.I called Abraham out of his kindred to make him the Father of nations. I did not destroy Abraham. I rather made Abram Abraham.

I have been misunderstood many of the time by my own children and because of that the world also misunderstands my intentions, saith the Lord. There are many among my children who do not know me and as a result do not understand that my ways are the best for them. They have all sorts of ideas concerning me and my plans, which have been widely accepted without anyone bothering to find out whether they are true or not. And because many in the church harbour such misconceptions, the world also from what it picks up from them have similar ideas about me.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMAIN LIKE THIS- Part 2
I mean that the heir, as long as he
is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, In the same way we also, when we
were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. Gal
4:1,3[ESV]
How
many of us can entrust our precious and delicate things to the charge of
children? No matter how those children are loved, we keep important documents,
jewellery and gadgets from them. Again, who would buy a real expensive mobile
phone for his or her two year old sister? Even though we may have all the money
to do ten times that, we wouldn’t do it because we know the child will only
spoil it. And if even you did, you would give it to someone older to keep until
the child was old enough to use it?

No Excuse
Romans1:19-23
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
Every person either accepts or rejects God and His gift of salvation made possible through His Son Jesus Christ. The second coming of Jesus draws nearer and nearer. Note that no excuse will be accepted for refusal to submit totally, your devotion and worship to God only. Do not think you are wise by living your life as you please now only to realise later what a fool you have been because that which is to be known of God is manifest, even His glory. Be wise, stop making up and giving excuses, today believe God, accept God’s gift of salvation and live. Amen.

I AM NOT ASHAMED
2Timothy1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Our God is faithful to the end even when we are unfaithful. Do not allow any earthly experience to cause your trust in God to weaken. As long as you know your God on a one-on-one basis, you ought to be strong and be ready to do exploits. Read and meditate on the Word of God, fellowship with Him in prayer, then, and only then will you know and experience our God. Greatness is an exclusive right for them who know their God personally. Amen.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO REMAIN LIKE THIS
But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 1Co 3:1,3[ESV]
It is a scripturally proven fact that the believer has been set free from sin because He died and resurrected with Christ (Rom 6:1-4). Yet believers who still exhibit jealousy, strife, greed, lust, fits of anger, lies, etc. are not a rare sight at all. Let me tell you why – because many are still babies in Christ; refusing to grow.
Who is a Christian? Literally, the term was a nickname given to the early believers, a group of people who were observed to be living so much like Christ (Acts 4:13, 11:26). Yet in our churches today, there are many Christians who are definitely not like Christ and don’t even desire to be. When you ask them whether they are living exactly like Jesus, their answer is that nobody can be like Jesus because Jesus was God.

WHEN YE PRAY- PART III
1John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
We know God’s word is truth. So if by God’s word we ask for what we desire he hears us and we have what we asked for. In acting out our faith we don’t believe because we see it but because God’s word says so.
Let’s say I ask God for a pen. As soon as I finish praying I must believe that I have the pen then I shall have it physically. So when I ask God for a laptop, I must believe first that I have the laptop then I will have it physically in my hands through a means God will provide. That is demonstration of faith in praying for our needs. This is of the heart or spirit. It is a deep assurance that indeed it is done. This will prevent you from praying about it again. Of course how can you pray for something you already are convinced has been done for you? You only give thanks to God that it is done for you. This will prevent you from worrying about it again. There will be peace in your heart because you have the assurance that it is done and are only waiting for its manifestation.

WHEN YE PRAY- PART II
Mark 11:13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
Jesus in his example spoke to the fig tree as if it were animate. He says we can do the same thing. He says, “ whosoever.”
The next thing is for us not to doubt in our hearts. See he did not say doubt in our minds. It means it is possible when you are acting out your faith your mind will be trying to discourage you that it will not work. It does not mean you doubt in your heart. Actually it is when you obey what your mind is trying to tell you that it becomes of the heart. There are a lot of times that even in praying for the sick the devil tries to stop me by reasoning with me in my mind that it will not work. I however go on to pray for the sick and they get healed. If I refrain as a result of what is going on in my mind then I doubt in my heart. There are times also that after acting out one’s faith one may show doubt in one’s actions and speech. This also is doubting in the heart. But Jesus said when we talk to the mountain we should not doubt in our hearts. We should hold on to our faith that indeed the mountain will move… but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

WHEN YE PRAY
Another area in which faith is required is prayer. When you mention prayer, every Christian seems to have an idea about it. We know about laying our petitions before God. We know we can ask God concerning the things we need. But the truth of the matter is that many Christians do not really believe God will answer their prayers. The worst group of people are those who are not really sure whether God hears them or not. And because of that many prayers go unanswered. As a result many Christians have lost faith in prayer. They pray just for praying sake but do not believe they will receive answers. How did I come to this conclusion?
Many Christians forget they have asked God concerning their need. Though surprising, this is actually true. Think about it. How many times do believers keep asking God for a particular need because they forget they have already asked? Why would you ask again for a need when you believe God heard you and answered you the first time you prayed? Those who believe God answered their prayer do not go to him over and over again for the same need. Honestly, if you really believe God heard and answered your prayer, you would have it in mind that it is done and not forget. These are signs of unbelief and will not get anything from God. Many people also, even when they finish praying continue to talk as if there is no hope. They continue to talk their fears even when they have prayed about them. They continue to look to themselves for solutions even when they have asked God for the solutions. But it must not be so.

KNOW IT AND YOU ARE FREE! - Part II
You may have missed: KNOW IT AND YOU ARE FREE! - Part I
---
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31,32[KJV]
I want you to see that in spite of the many doubters and scoffers in Jesus’ congregation when he made this profound statement, He was really addressing it to those who believed Him. He said to them, “Continue in my word... and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. We see from this passage that it is not enough just to believe in Jesus; but we also need to seek, study to know, and to continually abide in His words. A believer may still be in bondage if he does not know the relevant truths that have set Him free.
